Established in 2002, the PhD Program in Plant Sciences familiarizes you with the frontier topics of plant sciences. Our lectures emphasize interdisciplinary training and are focused on current and innovative research concepts across a broad spectrum of themes ranging from molecular and plant biology to ecosystems.

This PhD Program introduces students to state-of-the-art research techniques including a diverse array of workshops on digital skills, statistical methods, machine learning or the use of artificial intelligence in the plant sciences. Moreover, exchange with external experts, lecturers and peers is intended to provide hands-on experience.
The PSC PhD Program in Plant Sciences assures competencies, for example, in:
Students in the program will obtain their doctoral degree (i.e., PhD in Sciences) from the University of Zurich (UZH), ETH Zurich (ETHZ) or the University of Basel (UNIBAS).
The PhD Program is accredited by the UZH, ETHZ and UNIBAS, as well as the Zurich Life Science Graduate School. The PhD Program will be completed with a joint certification (i.e., PhD Program in Plant Sciences) from all three universities as part of the doctoral degree.
