Symposium of the Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center

This conference will present advances in plant science research on genomics, phenomics, and enviromics.
Participants are encouraged to present their own work during the poster session. Four poster abstracts will be selected for flash talks (10 min) (Flash talks: reserved for PSC members). PSC will award poster prizes and a special award for the best «augmented reality» poster.

Science and Policy Mentoring: Careers in Science or Policy, or both?
This course offers a perspective on possible career paths at the interface of science with policy. Recent graduates, including some PSC PhD program “Science and Policy” alumni, and other senior professionals present their career paths in government, politics, NGOs or private companies.

Aufruf: Gemeinsame Planung von Forschung zu Themen der ökologischen Landwirtschaft und der alternativen Ernährungssysteme
Als gesellschaftliche Akteure formulieren Sie aktiv Ihre Fragen und Bedürfnisse, auf welche Sie sich Antworten und Lösungen aus der Wissenschaft wünschen. Zusammen mit Forschenden der ETH Zürich, Universität Zürich oder Universität Basel planen Sie Forschung zu Themen der ökologischen Landwirtschaft und der alternativen Ernährungssysteme.
Aus diesen Fragestellungen können bis zu vier Forschungsprojekte entstehen, die einer namhaften Stiftung zur Förderung vorgeschlagen werden dürfen. Bei positivem Förderentscheid, werden diese über 4 Jahre mit einem Dissertationsprojekt begleitet werden.

Alpine Plant Ecology – Summer School 2019
This graduate course is offered by the University of Basel and the Zürich-Basel Plant Science Center (PSC) for advanced biology students with basic plant science training. Course topics include microclimatology, ecophysiology, bio- diversity, reproductive biology, vegetation and ecosystem ecology. The course will include lectures, field excursions and project work. Participation is limited to 24 students. Full board costs are CHF 400 (exclusive travel expenses).
